The first meeting of the Forum took place 21-23 January 2013 in Ghent, Belgium under the title “Quality Early Childhood Services for All: Addressing Disparities in Access for Children from Migrant and Low-Income Families” .

In recognition of its “schritt:weise” home visit program for economically and socially disadvantaged families, the a:primo association has received a check for CHF 20,000 from the Jacobs Foundation’s 2012 Christmas campaign.

The Jacobs Foundation is issuing a call for nominations for the 2013 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize. This prize, which comes with a cash award of one million Swiss francs, recognizes the work of scholars in any discipline devoted to promoting the successful development and life chances of children and adolescents.

The Jacobs Foundation invites to nominate a candidate for the 2013 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize. Nominates can be submitted by March 15, 2013.

In an effort to ensure that children and adolescents receive optimal support in developing social skills, the program seeks to improve networking and cooperation among partners active in the field of education, both within and outside of the schools.

The Zurich‐based Jacobs Foundation has awarded the 2012 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize and Best Practice Prize honoring outstanding achievements in research and practice in the field of child and youth development.

The 2012 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize is being awarded to Prof. Dante Cicchetti, Institute of Child Development, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. The Off Road Kids Foundation in Germany will be receiving the 2012 Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prize.
