Nine months after Jacobs Foundation announced a USD 52 million commitment to create TRECC: “Transforming Education in Cocoa Communities,” the program has become a growing coalition of public and private stakeholders aligning capital and knowledge to improve the quality of education in Côte d’Ivoire. TRECC will be officially launched on February 17th in Abidjan with the backing of the Ivorian government, the cocoa and chocolate industry, and additional committed partners.

More than 17,000 children aged 8 years old in 16 countries in four continents were asked about their experiences and views about their lives. Research of this kind with this age group is very unusual and this is the most wide-ranging and diverse study of its kind ever conducted internationally on children’s lives from their own perspectives. The second report from the Children’s Worlds study, published today, shows important results that can be used to improve children’s lives around the world.
