Fatima Zahraye Diallo

MIT Sloan

Fatima is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT School of Engineering and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to Sloan, Fatima worked in Operations Management, helping manufacturing plants increase efficiency and managing process optimization projects.

Fatima was born in Guinea, a country with one of the lowest youth literacy rates in the world. Throughout her primary school education, she experienced first-hand the inequalities that exist within the education sector. This experience inspired her to start her business venture, with the goal of using technology to reduce education disparities. She plans to begin by targeting a pilot in her native country. Her company focuses on creating an online platform that provides primary school teachers access to curated curricula along with lessons plans to help enhance the students learning experience. The platform will also empower teachers by offering performance tracking tools to help bridge learning gaps in the classroom.

Fatima is excited to join the Jacobs Network and looks forward to leveraging the foundation’s resources to solve the educational challenges in Africa.
