2017 Klaus J. Jacobs Awards Bestowed

The Jacobs Foundation has awarded the 2017 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize and Best Practice Prize honoring outstanding achievements in research and practice in the field of child and youth development.

300 international guests of politics, science, business and culture attended the awards ceremony on December 1, 2017, at the University of Zurich.
This year’s Research Prize, which is endowed with one million Swiss francs, was awarded to Professor Paul Bloom at Yale University for his research into the origins, nature and development of children’s moral thought and behavior.

The Best Practice Prize, which includes an award of 200,000 Swiss francs, went to War Child in the Netherlands for their global efforts to improve the lives of children exposed to war by promoting psychosocial well-being and fostering emotional resilience for their future. More
