In honor of its founder, since 2009, the Jacobs Foundation awards prizes for exceptional achievements in research and practice in the field of child and youth development. The Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize rewards scientific work that is highly relevant to society, and the Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prize honors exceptional commitment and innovative solutions of institutions or individuals.
In 2018, on the 10th anniversary of the Klaus J. Jacobs Awards, 10 awardees were honored for their outstanding social commitment.
As of 2019, the renowned awards are bestowed alternately every two years, starting with the 2019 Research Prize. Beginning in 2020, three Best Practice Prizes will be awarded each year.
