The Jacobs Foundation mourns the passing of Heinrich Ursprung

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Heinrich Ursprung, who passed away on 17 February 2024 (aged 91).

Heinrich was a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees from 1995-2003. As former President of ETH Zurich, President of the Swiss School Board, and State Secretary for Science and Research, he had a profound influence on the international competitiveness of the Swiss research system. Similarly, he also shaped the Jacobs Foundation’s claim to scientific excellence.

We will keep him in high esteem and our thoughts are with his family at this time.
