The Jacobs Foundation appoints Tina Cassidy as its first Country Director for Switzerland

The Jacobs Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Tina Cassidy as its first-ever Country Director for Switzerland, marking a significant milestone in the Foundation’s commitment to strengthening its presence and partnerships within the Swiss education ecosystem.
Tina Cassidy brings extensive experience in education policy, school leadership, and system-wide innovation. Since 2017, she has served as Head of the Office of Secondary Schools in the Canton of St. Gallen, overseeing the management and coordination of six secondary schools. In this role, she spearheaded numerous strategic initiatives to modernize education delivery and digital infrastructure, including the implementation of “Lernnavi” (Learning Navigator), a program designed to strengthen foundational skills in German and mathematics.
Her leadership in shaping the “Gymnasium of the Future” initiative and advancing digital transformation across upper secondary schools has positioned her as a respected voice in Swiss education reform. Cassidy also served as a board member and digitalization officer for the Swiss Conference of Secondary School Authorities (SMAK), contributing to national-level discussions on school governance and innovation.
Cassidy holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Governance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), with a thesis focused on educational standards.

As the Foundation deepens its engagement in Switzerland under Strategy 2030, Tina Cassidy’s leadership will be instrumental in driving locally grounded, evidence-informed programs that promote quality learning for all children.
Her appointment reinforces the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to educational excellence in Switzerland, and its broader ambition to ensure every child—regardless of background—has access to the opportunities they need to thrive.
