George Akubia Jr. is the Financial Controller, Ghana at the Jacobs Foundation, with over a decade of experience in managing and safeguarding philanthropic investments. He specializes in financial management, accounting, risk identification, mitigation, and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and strengthening internal controls.

George is committed to enabling transparent and effective program delivery by embedding risk-aware decision-making and fostering a culture of integrity to protect investment impact at scale. He has held finance and compliance roles across national and international organizations including CRS, CARE International, Global Communities, University of Cape Coast, and ACDI/VOCA.

He holds master’s degrees in Accounting & Finance and Procurement & Supply Chain Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, as well as an MBA (Finance) and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Cape Coast.
