Eliane Matti-Proenca

Partnership Advisor

Eliane is seconded from the Jacobs Foundation to the Foundation to support the Global Partnership for Education (GPE)  that is currently being set up in Geneva. In this role, she coordinates among others the Friends of Education group – a network of 40 Swiss foundations active in international education and key policymakers and -shapers working together for enhanced joint impact. With a background as a teacher, Eliane is passionate about enhancing access to quality education and creating public-private partnerships to leverage synergies and drive new ideas and innovative solutions.

She brings over 10 years of experience in program management at the intersection of development and peace nexus, across both public and private sectors. Her previous roles include managing Switzerland’s peace policy programs in Southern Africa and with the African Union, launching and managing the UN joint Education Plus Initiative in Cameroon, coordinating the International Network on Conflict and Fragility at the OECD. She has also advised numerous international development actors, both as part of PwC’s international development team and as an independent consultant.

Eliane holds a BSc from University of Geneva and a Master from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
