Daniel García

Financial Controller, Colombia

Daniel García is the Financial Controller for the Jacobs Foundation in Colombia, where he leads financial planning, reporting, and portfolio oversight, ensuring strong financial management and the effective implementation of internal controls and compliance practices across the foundation’s initiatives in the country. He works closely with the Country Director and global teams to support strategic decision-making, enable sound resource allocation, and contribute to the responsible and sustainable growth of the foundation’s work in Colombia.

Daniel brings a strategic and collaborative approach to finance, positioning it not only as a control function, but as an enabler of impact. He has worked at the intersection of finance, operations, and program delivery, supporting leadership teams in translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights, strengthening governance frameworks, and helping organizations navigate risk while maintaining operational agility.

He has over 15 years of experience in international development, including senior roles with USAID and the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, advising leadership on resource allocation, risk mitigation, and performance across large, complex portfolios. Daniel holds an MBA in Project Management and a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration, and is motivated by the role that sound financial management plays in enabling sustainable, evidence-based impact.
