Annie Brookman-Byrne (PhD)

Annie Brookman-Byrne is the Deputy Editor of BOLD, the Jacobs Foundation supported global platform for scientific knowledge that is changing children’s lives. Annie works closely with researchers and science writers, helping them to share stories about the latest science behind children’s learning and development. Together they produce articles, interviews, podcasts, and videos aimed at empowering caregivers and educators with evidence and tools to help children thrive. Annie is passionate about making sure that all BOLD content is as accurate, accessible, and engaging as possible.

Annie holds a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Educational Neuroscience, and a PhD in Psychological Sciences. She is a Chartered Psychologist, reflecting the highest standard of psychological experience, and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society in recognition of several years’ experience and contribution to the field of psychology. Annie has worked as a researcher in both psychology and education, and left academia to focus on communicating science to those who can use it. For three years, Annie was Deputy Editor of The Psychologist, the magazine from the British Psychological Society. Annie has been Deputy Editor of BOLD since 2021.
