What are the thematic priorities of the Jacobs Foundation? How can fellows engage and contribute to the Jacobs Network? These are just a few of the questions that will be answered during the introductory week for new and current fellows from different sectors such as business, research, and media. The so-called Swiss Week takes place in Zurich from May 28 to May 31, 2018.
Current and former Jacobs Fellows from different sectors such as business, research, and media will come together in Zurich to participate in the Swiss Week. During the interactive workshops, they will learn about the Jacobs Network and work at advancing the concept and further grow the online platform. Various presentations will introduce the fellows to the work of the Foundation, the thematic priorities, as well as the work of the Jacobs Holding and Barry Callebaut.
The visit to the Foundation’s portfolio company Barry Callebaut, the world’s leading supplier of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products poses the opportunity for the fellows to learn more about the company in general and the sustainability program “Forever Chocolate”.
An excursion to the Swiss EdTech Collider as part of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where over 65 start-ups in the EdTech space gather in the co-working space will take place on Wednesday. The business fellows, some of them having their own start-up, will hear about the different projects, ask questions from an investor’s perspective, and engage in deeper discussions with the different founders and CEO’s presenting their organizations. The week ends with a trip to the Swiss mountains.
The Swiss Week is an event organized through the Jacobs Foundation’s Network, which brings together Fellows from different sectors and offers a space of interaction to connect with like-minded, committed, talented people interested in child and youth development. It is a space where expertise is accessible and crowd-intelligence unfolds for the possibility to develop trustful cooperation with each other for the benefit of child and youth development.
