Francis Bizoza Bigirimana

Francis is a project-based curriculum designer, focused on foundational literacy and numeracy, SEL, and playful approaches to learning, a Master Teacher Program Fellow under the Anzisha Education Accelerator Program of the African Leadership Academy- he provides mentorship and professional development to teachers of Green Belt Academy in Bor-Jonglei-State, a Senior Secondary School run by Education Bridge whose mission is to educate a generation of peacemakers and transformational leaders in South Sudan. He graduated from Makerere University with a degree in Education, and is an alumnus and pioneer fellow of Teach for Uganda, where he served a two-year fellowship in a rural public primary school –an experience that gave him a deep appreciation for the extreme challenges that teachers and students face on a daily basis. He is passionate about quality education and providing teacher professional development, a passion that has pushed him to establish an Edtech education enterprise Teachers Empowerment Platform-TEP that works to build the capacity of teachers to improve their skills in facilitation of learning and use of digital tools for improved learning outcomes.
