Encouraging Many Forms of Dialogue Between Researchers and the Public

We believe that scientific findings should be disseminated to as many people as possible, and that researchers should engage in dialogue with practitioners and decision makers. This is why we introduced our Blog on Learning and Development – BOLD three years ago, and why we have been becoming increasingly active on social media. However, communication is about more than digital media. With KOSMOS in Zurich, we have found an ideal partner and venue for exploring new kinds of interaction between scientists and an interested and engaged public.
On June 16 we contribute to a first event at KOSMOS, which features two recipients of the Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize: Sarah-Jayne Blakemore and Paul Bloom. In brief presentations and a discussion with moderator Olivia Kühni and the audience, they will explore important aspects of human nature – from morality to brain development to the process of becoming an adult.
