Making A Change

The Jacobs Foundation’s documentary featuring the exceptional engagement of the ten recipients of the 2018 Klaus J. Jacobs Awards has been officially selected for the 7th Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival.

Making A Change shows ten individual stories along a child’s developmental journey from early childhood over primary and secondary school until entering the job market. A journey around the world facing a lot of neglect and violence. A discovery of ten passionate people dedicating their lives to give children and youth in underprivileged societies an opportunity to develop to their full potential.

Agatha Thapa is one of these ten people – a recipient of a 2018 Klaus J. Jacobs Award for Social Engagement. She is the founder of Seto Gurans National Child Development Services, and she has dedicated her professional life to early childhood development. Seto Gurans envisions Nepal as a country, in which the rights of all children are ensured and where all children receive quality opportunities for learning and development.

The 56-minute documentary Making A Change has been officially selected for the 7th Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival, which takes place in Kathmandu from April 4 – 7, 2019. More than 30 selected films on human rights issues from around the globe are screened during the festival.

After the screening of Making A Change the Jacobs Foundation, Seto Gurans and the Swiss Embassy of Nepal host an event for invited partners and experts from politics, business, culture and social affairs. Elisabeth von Capeller, Ambassador of the Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal, gives a welcome address, and Agatha Thapa discusses early childhood develoment with the audience.
