Celebrating the launch of The Rise of Knowledge Brokers in Global Education Governance

We are pleased to announce the release of The Rise of Knowledge Brokers in Global Education Governance, a new book that explores the important role of evidence in shaping education policies worldwide.
The Foundation has authored Chapter 4 – “Evidence labs in the education sector: a review and early reflection on the Jacobs Foundation journey“, written by Jacob Foundation’s Global Lead for Learning and Evidence, Samuel Kembou, and our Chief Knowledge Officer, Donika Dimovska.
Their chapter takes readers behind the scenes of the Foundation’s work in establishing education evidence labs (EdLabs) across Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Switzerland, and Colombia. These EdLabs are evidence intermediaries that bring together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to ensure that evidence sits at the heart of policy and practice decisions.

Kembou and Dimovska look at the intricate process of building EdLabs from the ground up, considering how they align with local needs for evidence while considering the policy-making process and the inherent politics behind it. The chapter captures both the challenges and the promising potential of EdLabs as a model for embedding evidence into decision-making processes.

We invite you to read this reflective chapter and learn more about the journey of EdLabs in advancing evidence use in education.
The Jacobs Foundation is proud to contribute to this conversation and to share insights that could shape the future of global education.
