Sam Linden

As an arts manager and nonprofit professional, Sam is passionate about the role that cultural organizations such as theaters, orchestras, museums, and public spaces play in youth and urban development, and works to ensure these institutions can effectively create more vibrant, creative, engaged, and equitable communities and citizens. He is thrilled to join the Jacobs Network as a Social Entrepreneurship fellow.

Sam is currently a consultant at TDC, a Boston-based nonprofit management consulting firm that works largely with arts and culture institutions, education organizations, and foundations and funders in those two sectors. His client work focuses on strategic planning, organizational design, and grantmaking strategy, helping entities across the nonprofit ecosystem use their resources more impactfully. Earlier in his career, he worked the New York City public school system in various capacities, including charter school operations, managing arts education and other out-of-school-time programs at community-based nonprofit organizations, and running college access programs for low-income students.

Sam holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, an MFA in Theater Management from the Yale School of Drama, and a BA in Music from Harvard University. He is also a trained singer and musical theater composer/lyricist, and once lip-sync beat-boxed as part of an opening act for Aretha Franklin.
