Anthony Senanayake

Yale University

Tony is passionate about the use of data and evidence to alleviate poverty worldwide particularly at the intersection of education and public policy. Tony currently works at an international NGO called IDinsight focusing his efforts on leveraging robust development economics tools in the furtherance of this passion.

Tony graduated from the Yale School of Management in 2020 with an MBA and worked as a researcher with the International Growth Center in partnership with Yale University on the design of evaluations looking at the impact of rural electrification in Sierra Leone. He has also worked on the design of monitoring and evaluation systems for education social enterprises in India, evaluation of ed-tech platforms in Zambia, and the design of a youth homeless shelter in New Haven.

Tony considers himself an effective altruist and in his spare time can be found enjoying sports or reading philosophy.
