Akonkwa Mubagwa

Berkeley Haas

Akonkwa has a diverse background in Computer Forensics and Social entrepreneurship.

Starting his career in 2012 in Fraud Investigations at PwC in Belgium, Akonkwa emerged as Data Analytics expert for Fraud Detection and Analysis for Non-profits in francophone Africa and Financial institutions in Europe. In 2015 he moved to Switzerland to focus on the banking sector at PwC Zurich and leveraged that experience to start a consulting practice in 2017. Akonkwa is now working on building a Pan-African solar panel brand and will use the MBA at UC Berkley’s Haas School of Business to test that hypothesis and launch the start-up in West Africa. During his free time, Akonkwa contributes to the Fast Africa Foundation he founded in College by organizing courses and training to teach Congolese students how to program computers and leverage information technology to build their own businesses.

Akonkwa is excited to join the Jacobs Foundation and looks forward on studying sustainable business models where corporate and public institutions join efforts to deliver competitive local products while creating employment.
