Jacobs Social Entrepreneur Fellow

David Lawrence

Wharton Business School

David is passionate about improving health and education outcomes in the U.S. and is delighted to count himself among the newest cohort of Social Entrepreneurship Fellows.

David is a proud alumnus of Yale and is now a JD/MBA candidate at Harvard/Wharton. He loves learning and believes strongly in a universal right to education and healthcare. After college he worked first for the Mayor of Hartford on education and health policy, then as a management consultant, and finally as Deputy Budget Director to the Governor of Connecticut, for whom he led education and health transition budget committees.

At Wharton, David has focused on building an entrepreneurial skillset. He has led student teams testing the viability of entrepreneurial concepts in the higher education and emergency medical response sectors, and conducted university-sponsored longitudinal studies through the Wharton Behavioral Lab. As a Jacobs Foundation Fellow, David is excited to collaborate with other scholars and entrepreneurs to develop innovative approaches to improving health and education outcomes.
