Patrick Aebischer is a new member of the Jacobs Foundation’s Board of Trustees

Zurich – Patrick Aebischer has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Jacobs Foundation, as of January 1, 2017. Prof. Dr. med. Aebischer was President of EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne / Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne ). Patrick Aebischer has studied medicine and neurosciences at the universities of Fribourg and Geneva. He succeeds Prof. Laura Tyson, who retires from the Board of Jacobs Foundation.

Patrick Aebischer has worked as a professor at Brown University (Rhode Island, USA). From 2000 till 2016, he was President of EPFL. Patrick Aebischer conducts research on the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Lonza Group, Nestlé, Logitech and Amazentis, a start-up biotechnology firm he has founded. He is also a member of various scientific advisory boards, such as the Advisory Board Novartis Venture Fund (as chairman) and the Singapore International Advisory Committee for Biomedical Sciences.
